Our Network
At Spitfire we have always strived to develop our core network to both increase resilience and redundancy, but also to allow us to offer market leading services and solutions. Our fully resilient multi-node core network double fibre rings now span four geographically diverse locations: Telehouse – Docklands North, Equinix – Docklands South, The Oval in South London and Equinix LD3 in West London’s Park Royal.
Network Security
Making a network secure is as important as making it work. As a telecommunications company, we take security very seriously – and work with you to meet your requirements for secure network access and traffic. Speak to our team today to discuss security for your business networks.
Firewall as a Service (FWaaS)
Spitfire Firewall as a Service (FWaaS) provides a fully managed, Unified Threat Managed service to secure your data network perimeter. Protecting your network from internet borne threats should be of paramount concern to every organisation. Utilising Fortinet’s Fortigate firewall security and Unified Threat Management platform, Spitfire’s FWaaS service offers class leading threat protection underpinned by […]
Quality of Service
While an email may take a minute or two to be delivered without complaint, a delay of just a hundred milliseconds on your business voice call may have an unacceptable effect on quality. That’s why we provide Quality of Service configurations to ensure time sensitive traffic traverses the network with minimal delays.
Spitfire QoS Options
Which is the right solution for you? Quality of Service (QoS) represents a variety of mechanisms that can be applied to a network to ensure that network traffic is delivered to its destination without being impeded by other traffic. This is especially important if you intend to use the same circuit for both voice […]
IoT (Internet of Things)
IoT is rapidly evolving and by definition requires Things to be connected, from device, to IoT platform, to user. All from any location. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of devices and machines that interoperate over a network without requiring human intervention. With the continued development of enabling technologies and technical standardisation there […]
Routing and Switching
To ensure a holistic end-to-end service, we recommend that all Spitfire supplied circuits are terminated on a Spitfire supplied and configured router. Your Spitfire account manager will discuss your configuration requirements with you, and seek advice from our IP Engineering team as necessary.
Resilience and Back up Circuits
We realise that your business needs to be online at all times – and even the briefest of connection outages can have costly consequences. Although our data circuits are among the most reliable on the market, faults can still happen. We provide a range backup circuit options with auto-failover available.
Converged Voice and Data
Carrying voice and data over the same circuit makes efficient use of available bandwidth and helps control network costs. Using Quality of Service configurations and guarantees will ensure a solution to meet your requirements.
Designing the best network solutions for your business
IP Engineering (Internet Protocol Engineering) is right at the heart of everything we do. It’s what drives the routers and switches that control and forward data over the internet and your business LAN.
Our expert understanding of IP Engineering gives us the ability to build the best possible networks for your business – and gives you the confidence in a solution that won’t let you down.
All staff at Spitfire, across our engineering, sales, support and software development departments, are given extensive training in IP Engineering and associated technology or disciplines.
Dedicated IP Engineers, of course, undertake extended rigorous specialist training – but as a sound foundation for practical success all other staff are expected to achieve Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician status within the first six months of joining Spitfire.
Recognising your requirements
At Spitfire, we recognise that IP Networks and IP Engineering are there to serve our customers broader IT requirements. After all, you require an internet access circuit to browse a website, send an email, make a VoIP call or remotely access an accounting application on another company site.
So, all our staff are also given training to help them understand the applications that you, our customers, want to use, where you want to use them
and what impact this might have on your IP Network and IP Engineering requirements such as public IP addressing, bandwidth, Quality of Service, security, resilience and SLAs.
It’s this rare, thorough and disciplined approach that puts Spitfire at the very forefront of our industry.
