Spitfire Launches Dual IMSI Multi-Network SIMs
We’re excited to announce the launch of Spitfire’s dual IMSI Multi-Network SIM, designed to deliver resilient, high-quality connectivity to our customers.
Since launching as a full MVNO in October 2023, Spitfire’s One Network® has attracted strong interest by providing secure, private connectivity and flexible billing to UK SMEs, enterprises, and IoT customers. One Network® combines mobile, fixed-line, and cloud connectivity across multiple carriers into a secure private network, all under a single supplier contract. Building on the success of our ‘home network’ SIM, our new Dual IMSI SIM delivers seamless resilience by automatically switching to an alternative UK MNO if the home network becomes unavailable. Where it differs from other Multi-Network SIMs is it periodically checks for the return of the home network (which offers lower latency and reduced costs) ensuring connectivity is always optimised for both performance and price. The result is exceptional network availability, making it the perfect solution for business-critical deployments or locations with fluctuating coverage. At Spitfire, we understand that the future of connectivity lies in innovation and adaptability. Our commitment to providing tailored solutions ensures that your business remains at the forefront of technology, ready to tackle any challenge. With our expert team by your side, you can trust that your connectivity needs are in capable hands, allowing you to focus on what you do best – growing your business.
Starting from just £1.00 per month, these SIMs are ideal for IoT applications across various industries, offering a robust, flexible connectivity solution that keeps operations running smoothly.
Regardless of which network your SIM connects to, you can opt for all data to stay on-net within Spitfire’s One Network®, a secure and private network making your devices invisible and unreachable to hackers. Click ‘how do we keep your data secure?’ to read more.
Contact us today to join our growing base of customers and partners who are unlocking new possibilities and elevating their IoT solutions with these powerful SIMs!
What makes our Dual IMSI Multi-Network SIM different?
Spitfire’s Dual IMSI Multi-Network SIM uses dual IMSI profiles, unlike other SIM providers that typically use only one. The first IMSI connects to our home network, while the second enables seamless failover to all other major UK MNO networks in the unlikely event of a loss of connection to the home network.
So why is this better?
Key Benefits of Prioritising the Home Network
- Reduced Cost: Decreases data costs by steering traffic to the home network when the signal is strong, benefitting from favourable rates by doing so
- Lower Latency: Through the same steering mechanism, the SIM will always ensure the home network is used where possible, to benefit from the lower latency available via this network
- Data Stays Within the UK: When the home network is used (on IMSI 1) the data will stay within the UK, as opposed to other single IMSI Multi-Network SIMs on the market which route ALL your traffic via non-UK based mobile networks
Key Benefits of the Multi-Network IMSI Acting as a Backup
- Enhanced Resiliency: If the home network signal is weak, the SIM uses a secondary IMSI to seamlessly connect to another network with a suitably strong signal to maintain a continuous service
- Maximum Coverage: Access to all UK MNO networks through this Dual-IMSI approach ensures your IoT devices stay connected, even in areas with limited coverage
- Automatic Reconnection: Once the home network signal is restored, the SIM redirects to this route to once again optimise for cost and latency
- Permanent Roaming Agreements: We have permanent roaming agreements in place to ensure the SIM is never kicked off any of the available networks, a common issue with other Multi-Network SIMs
This Dual-IMSI design combines the benefits of low-cost, low-latency home network access with the resilient, wide-reaching connectivity of a Multi-Network SIM, bringing you the best of both worlds!
Will our Dual IMSI Multi-Network SIMs utilise One Network?
Yes! Spitfire’s layer 2 interconnect with a French MVNO network provides offshore UK roaming access to all four MNOs, without use of the public internet.
As all data remains on-net with Spitfire, the IP address configuration remains the same, the APN remains the same, and your data does not traverse the public internet when using the secondary IMSI profile.
How do we keep your data secure?
IoT devices, whilst incredibly beneficial, are also potential entry points for cyberattacks. They are often seen as easy targets as any device is ultimately only as secure as the network to which it is connected and operates over, with cyber-security threats ever increasing:
- IoT malware attacks up 107% year-on-year
- 50% of all UK businesses experienced a cyber breach in last 12 months
- 526 new malware variants detected per day
Spitfire’s One Network® offers a secure IoT solution by ensuring end-to-end connectivity while completely isolating your devices and data from the public internet. This approach enhances security and reduces complexity by bypassing traditional internet routes. The solution supports multiple connectivity options, including mobile, fixed line, or cloud, with a straightforward and cost-effective setup.
For IoT solutions that require some level of internet access or integration with existing systems, One Network® offers a secure, enterprise-grade entry point via a hosted Firewall as a Service (FWaaS) solution. Using Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, FWaaS provides advanced security features such as Geoblocking, and remote access options while maintaining network integrity – we call this Spitfire Unified Network® (SUN®).
Key Security Benefits of One Network®
- Complete isolation from the public internet
- Devices invisible and unreachable to hackers
- Enterprise-grade security options for internet access, where required
- Reduced and simplified configuration requirements

Dual IMSI Multi-Network SIMs are available from less than £1.00 per month, with competitive per MB rates offering unmatched market value.
We offer a range of pricing models, including Pay Per MB, data bundles, and pooled data to fit any business need.
What about international roaming?

The Big Switch Off – Less Than 12 Months to Go!
Last year, Openreach and BT announced that the plan to withdraw all copper-based analogue, ISDN and broadband services (which was scheduled to complete by 31st December 2025) had been delayed until 31st January 2027. Here, we take a quick look as to why this delay was announced and why you should still act now to get ahead of The Big Switch Off – with less than 12 months to go, do not delay and put your business communications at risk!
Why was The Big Switch Off delayed from December 2025 to January 2027?
After a progress review, a 13-month extension to the deadline was confirmed to provide more time to manage the mass migration of services, including Telecare, and allow the industry to adapt more carefully. The aim of this “reset” is to provide a balanced approach, ensuring the safe migration of all services while reducing pressure on all parties involved.
What happens after the January 2027 deadline?
After the 31st January 2027 deadline, there will be no access to the analogue/digital PSTN network. All signalling will utilise VoIP.
It’s not Openreach’s objective to remove all the copper cabling by this 2027 date, the objective is to shut down the use of the telephone network utilising the copper. In fact, modern IP based services may still utilise the physical copper after this deadline, however you will no longer have access to the PSTN network.
Openreach have a secondary objective to remove reliance on the physical copper infrastructure altogether and replace it with fibre, though this work is not expected to complete before 2030 at the earliest.
Openreach price increases & contract termination
From the start of 2026, Openreach confirmed that they may amend the existing contract terms, for example Repair Service Level Agreements, at just 3 months notice.
They have also confirmed drastic price increases during 2026. For example an increase in the base price of analogue telephone lines (based on March 2026 price) of 20% in April, 40% in July and 40% in October. A total increase of 100% by October! To avoid these price increases please assist us in migrating your circuit.
So, even though these services may remain in place for a little longer, the underlying message is extremely clear – make the move to an All- IP solution today to:
✅ Avoid the increasing issues and longer resolution times being experienced with these ageing technologies – Ofcom’s 2024 report detailed that PSTN network incidents had increased by 40% over last 12 months, with further decline expected
✅ Move to a fully defined product, with suitable repair SLAs for your business, and avoid the rush and potential engineer resource restrictions that will make moving more problematic as we approach the 2027 deadline
✅ Avoid further price increases for these legacy services, which will come thick and fast during 2026!
✅ Take advantage of the numerous benefits All-IP solutions provide, including cost saving and enhanced features/functionality from new technology
What does this delay mean for me and my business?
Our message to customers is unchanged – act now!
Although this revised date buys more time, and indeed may now seem some way off, the huge task for all businesses to move to an all-IP future proofed service remains.
Make the move to an All-IP solution today for several reasons:
- Avoid the increasing issues and longer resolution times being experienced with these ageing technologies – Ofcom’s 2024 report detailed that PSTN network incidents had increased by 40% over last 12 months, with further decline expected
- These incidents are also taking longer to resolve meaning there are not only substantially more faults occurring on these legacy services, but the potential negative business impact these are having are also increasing
- Migrating now will ensure you are using a fully defined product, with suitable repair SLAs for your business
- Avoid any further cost increases for these legacy services, which are very much expected throughout 2026
- Take advantage of the numerous benefits All-IP solutions provide, including cost saving and enhanced features/functionality from new technology
How do I migrate my services to a future-proof alternative?
The process to switch to all-IP is very straight forward with Spitfire!
We provide a wide range of voice and data services that will future proof your business ahead of The Big Switch Off. Whether you need to upgrade your copper based broadband connection, analogue or digital phone lines, or you are simply unsure about your current services and whether they will be impacted by this change, contact us today to discuss a migration plan for your business.

One Hour Under Attack –
the Risk of Exposing a Public IP to the Internet
With the cyber security risks of internet facing devices and networks increasing exponentially, Spitfire wanted to help highlight the severity of exposing a public IP address to the internet through a ‘Honeypot’ experiment – a type of security system used to lure cybercriminals into a trap.
With 2,266 attack attempts seen in a single hour, the results were staggering! Read more about the experiment here, and understand how deploying Spitfire’s secure, private One Network® provides a robust defence against these risks, protecting your business from internet-borne cyber security threats:
