Spitfire participates in the Wales Broadband Voucher initiative
16 January 2018
Spitfire, the multi-award winning Internet telephony service provider and ISP, is participating in two schemes that are part of the Wales Broadband Voucher initiative run by the Welsh Government.
The Access Broadband Cymru (ABC) Scheme provides grant support to SME businesses looking to move to Next Generation fibre broadband or fibre Ethernet capable of delivering stable superfast download speeds in parts of Wales (Cymru), which have previously been unable to access fast internet connections.
The ABC Scheme offers a two tier voucher which provides grant support towards eligible costs for broadband connections that result in a download speed step change with a minimum download speed of at least 10Mbps. The voucher denominations are:
- £400 voucher for 10Mbps and 20Mbps broadband packages
- £800 voucher for a superfast broadband package (30Mbps and above)
The Ultrafast Connectivity Voucher Scheme targets larger businesses that will typically be looking to implement a dedicated high speed fibre Ethernet data circuit with Gigabit capability. The Ultrafast scheme provides grant support with a maximum funding award of £10,000 towards installation and router hardware costs for businesses requiring uncontended internet access with a minimum of 100Mb download speed.
There are additional eligibility criteria for both schemes and businesses should consult the Welsh Government website to check full details, terms and conditions.
Spitfire’s expertise in IP Engineering means it can offer access to the UK’s widest range of market leading, competitively priced Ethernet, FTTP, VDSL, SDSL, or ADSL circuits for fast internet access over the company’s own core network.
Commenting on Spitfire’s participation in the schemes, Dominic Norton, Engineering Solutions Director for the company stated, “Significant parts of Wales, especially rural areas, still have poor internet access because of slow broadband speeds. In the twenty-first century this is a debilitating handicap for businesses that wish grow and thrive. The schemes provide an excellent incentive for business customers to contact us to upgrade their broadband access to superfast connections.”
Ends.
